She’s neglecting her family. And she’s having an affair with a colleague whose taste for pushing boundaries may be more than she can handle. I did it.
I killed him. I should be locked up. Alison’s client doesn’t deny that she stabbed her husband – she wants to plead guilty.
And yet something about her story is deeply amiss. Saving this woman may be the first step to Alison saving herself. I’m watching you.
I know what you’re doing. But someone knows Alison’s secrets. Someone who wants to make her pay for what she’s done, and who won’t stop until she’s lost everything….

Devious and superbly juicy – this foray into the lives of Alison – a 30 something solicitor in the city, her husband & child up against the job and her lover. Who will she side with, she knows she shouldn’t, but she cant help herself.
An amazing debut novel from Harriet Tyce – who herself used to be a barrister for over 10 years.
Anatomy of a scandal meets This Life – 5 * from me!

Usually when I write a book review my key focus is the plot, but this time I just have to commend the writing.
When I first started this book I wasn’t sure I’d like it, sometimes I struggle when main characters make life decisions I don’t understand because I can’t relate. But a few chapters in and that didn’t matter; I was so absorbed by this book that I became Alison! My poor husband didn’t know what was going on when my attitude changed towards him depending on what chapter I was on!
I devoured the book in a day and loved it, a fantastic debut novel and I’m looking forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t rush it, I took each chapter slowly so I could really absorb it all. Every new chapter I looked forward to as I didn’t know what was going to happen next. It was easy reading but gripping at times too. Not the best book I have ever read but up there with a 9/10.

I loved this book! It is an excellent and easy (not the subject matter but the style of writing) read.
Highly recommended from me.
