a really original crime novel – so really refreshing.
If you like your true crime documentaries on TV – then this is exactly for you – in book form. Told from the POV of a young missing girl”s family, friends and police – we get a really rounded insight into this young girls life in her first term at university.
As told to an investigative author – who in turn has made contact with a certain “Joseph Knox” – so this is a sharp and clever way of really making the book stand out.
For those like me who are often put off thinking crime novels can be a bit gruesome – this is completely without gore and violence – so really refreshing.
Some interesting and innovative twists and turns along the way – and never predictable – this is a book you will really want to discuss. The best kind!

True Crime Story is a book that everyone talked about for the past weeks. I was dying to read it, and unfortunately I wasn’t approved for any early copies… I was waiting patiently* for it to be published and collected it from the bookstore as soon as it was available.

I loved Aidan Waits series by Joseph Knox and I knew that this book will be great. I just didn’t expect a masterpiece. I was hooked from the first pages, and with every chapter I was more and more amazed how the author could even come up with the idea! I love stories which are written in original form, I love to get something I’ve never seen before and I absolutely loved the uniqueness of “True Crime Story”

Zoe Nolan is a normal teenager who suddenly disappears. Seven years later Evelyn Mitchell decides to write a book about the case. She interviews people who knew Zoe, her family and friends, people who happened to be connected, even the police. She decides to consult her idea with her friend – Joseph Knox.

We see interviews, press articles, pictures, emails, scans…

Everything about this book is perfect – a story, a fiction that looks like non-fiction, and all those tiny details that make it look so real.

When you get this book in your hands, you should make yourself comfortable because you won’t leave your seat in a few hours until you finish reading.

I still can’t find the right words to describe how much I loved this book and I know I’m going to recommend it to every single person who asks (and those who don’t) for a book recommendation.

I don’t know how Joseph wants to beat this one and write something even more original, but I can’t wait to find out.

Loved the characters, loved the narrative, loved the mystery. Knox seems to manage to balance making the reader feel clever for solving small mysteries quicker than the characters, while still surprising on the big things. Absolutely raced through reading it. Highly recommend!
