This was the book Bert surprised me via Be(rt) My Valentine (2022) and it is not normally the sort of book I would pick for myself, and I both loved and hated it. It is a fantastic book, and I highly recommend it if you love a good romantic yarn, full of twists and turns.
It is a contemporary love story full of very well written characters and a tight knit plot written from several perspectives. Normally a book where I spend the first two hundred pages absolutely despising every single one of the characters wouldn’t get finished, but the reason I was so frustrated with the characters is because they are so well written I couldn’t help but admire Adele Parks’ talent at creating such real and (mostly) redeemable characters who you (again mostly) end up falling for yourself.
