This is my first Tommy & Tuppence Mystery, and I enjoyed it. I’ve never read anything by Christie before that wasn’t Poirot or Miss Marple, and I cannot wait to read more of this adventuring duo.
It’s not really what I’d call an Amateur Detective story, it is Espionage with missing persons and the occasional dead body. It does admittedly start slowly, but eventually you realise you don’t want to put it down. Especially if like me you have a theory and you want to see if you were proved right or wrong: in that respect it’s a classic Christie plot of overlapping clues that persuade you to read to the end.
