  1. Laura Besley

‘A Fatal Crossing’ (Penguin Random House, 2022) by Tom Hindle is a murder mystery which takes place over several days on a steamer en route from the UK to America. Reading it, I was very much reminded of Agatha Christie’s ‘Death on the Nile’. Both are set on a boat, of course, but also in terms of intrigue and suspense as well as the details depicting the era. This is a pacy and enjoyable novel.
